Met Police has confirmed the body discovered by a group of walkers in Biggin Hill was of an elderly man.
Police were called at 4.19pm last Sunday (September 26) after members of the public found a body in a field off Oaklands Lane.
They are currently working to identify the man, who they say was elderly and of Afro-Caribbean origin.
Pictures from the scene show police in attendance with a white tent erected.

A post-mortem examination was held at the Princess Royal University hospital on Wednesday (September 29) and the result did not establish a cause of death.
Police say that further forensic enquiries will continue, while the death is currently treated as unexplained.
No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
