M25 protests: First picture shows climate protesters blocking Motorway near Dartford Crossing

Climate protest group Insulate Britain have blocked the M25 for the second time this week.

Pictures taken from the Princes Road roundabout, which sits just off the A282 shows protesters sitting and blocking the road.

Police are at the scene, although traffic is majorly impacted as a result of the protest.

Further down the motorway, traffic has been held between J8 and J9 as a result of the protest.

A statement from Insulate Britain said that 89 people all over the country, blocked roundabouts and a carriageway on the M25 this morning.

The organisation are calling on PM Boris Johnson to tackle global warming by pumping funding into household energy usage and efficiency.

The A296 Princes Road is one of the roads targeted by the protesters.

Traffic website Inrix said: "Queueing traffic due to demonstration around M25 J1B (Dartford). On the roundabout."
