A lorry fire caused the closure of two of three lanes on the M20 westbound near Ashford.
The incident, which occurred between Junction 9 towards A20 Fougeres Way and Junction 8 for Ashford Road, happened just after 2am this morning (Friday September 10).
Details of the vehicle fire were scarce at the time of the incident, although an update on traffic monitoring service Inrix at 2.47am confirmed that it was a lorry which set alight.
Lanes one and two were closed to deal with the vehicle, while Google Maps showed traffic in the area of the incident was proving to be slow.
An update from Traffic England read: "The event is expected to clear between 05:15 and 05:30 on 10 September 2021."
The vehicle fire occurred just north of Ashford Golf Club and south of Westwell Leacon near Charing.
