Dover is getting another new restaurant as healthy chicken shop Peckish plans to move into town.

The quality chicken purveyors will be filling a vacant unit in Worthington Street.

MyDover recently reported restaurant Tummy Station would be opening up in New Street, just off of Biggin Street.

Hungry Dovorians will be spoilt for choice with Dover’s latest arrival.

The manager of the Peckish flagship store in Ramsgate, and their newly opened shop in Deal, King street, told MyDover: “I would love to give you the exact date we are looking at opening the Dover store.

“But it should be in the next month, either October or November but maybe we could open before then.

“We are finalising a few things like staffing.

“That’s the type of thing we are looking at, at the moment.”

Peckish Ramsgate: This is how the Dover store could look

Mike said the owners, Nadine and Neil, who are currently away, are keen to employ local people from the areas they set up their shops.

They will be looking for front of house, chefs, and drivers who are ‘friendly and outgoing’.

Mike, who lives in Deal, said: “We started the business four years ago.

“It’s a small family-run business.

“The owners opened it as a small business and I came in a few years later.”

At Peckish, the menu revolves around the whole chickens which are batched and cooked on site, in a large Rotisserie oven over a period of 2 hours.

As well as chicken, Dover diners can expect fresh homemade bread, bbq pulled chicken, and desserts like chocolate brownies and crumbles.

Sunday roasts will also be on the menu "with all the trimmings".

Worthington Street is where Peckish will be serving up some chicken

Peckish is mainly a take-away operation, with the food being made to order, but Mike says there will be minimal seating so people could eat- in with the potential for more seating in the future.

Mike said: “It’s all good home-cooked food. It’s a healthy alternative to take away, something like Chinese or Indian.”

Peckish is keen to hear from local people who would be interested in working for them.
