The top doctors surgeries in Kent have been revealed – where does yours rank?

Old Parsonage GP Surgery in Goudhurst took the top spot in the county, being one of the top five GP practices in the UK by the online league table

Also making it into the top five patients’ choice were Egton Surgery in Whitby, North Yorkshire, Old Parsonage Surgery in Goudhurst, Kent, Batheaston Medical Centre in Bath, Cartmel Surgery in Cumbria, and Caldbeck Surgery in Wigton, Cumbria.

The league table is based on the latest findings from the GP Patient Survey – a huge ongoing poll involving more than a million people a year.

You can find out how your GP surgery ranks using our interactive widget – just type your surgery's name or postcode in to see how your healthcare compares.

The findings are based on the GP Patient Survey – an ongoing poll which sees more than 1 million people giving their opinion on GP practices.

The survey takes into consideration factors such as trust in doctors, attitude of reception staff and how easy it is to get an appointment.

Old Parsonage has received glowing reviews from its patients, with 95 per cent of respondents saying they usually get to see or speak to their preferred GP, compared to a national average of just 45 per cent.

An impressive 99 per cent of patients said they found it easy to get through to the GP practice by phone, which was over 30 per cent higher than the national average of 68%.

And 95 per cent of respondents were offered a choice of appointment when they last tried to make one.

All patients who participated in the survey said their healthcare assistant was both good at listening to them and at offering relevant advice, and felt that their needs had been bet.

All patients surveyed said their experience with the practice was good, which beat the national average by 17 per cent.

The google reviews for Old Parsonage speak very highly of the GP surgery, with one patient saying: "My health has been monitored and maintained by this surgery since 1980, some 39 odd years.

"They have a 5 star rating in every respect , having embraced patient care and medical skill at every level."

Another patient added: "I can't speak highly enough of this practice. They are always professional, kind and will go out of their way to support you. And I can always get seen."

A third patient said: "Just lovely staff amazing people!

"We are very lucky – couldn't wish for more care and kindness."

At the time of the last inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in 2017, Old Parsonage in Goudhurst received ratings of good across all categories – including safety, effectiveness, care, responsiveness and leadership.

Unfortunately Old Parsonage was knocked off the top spot by Slaidburn Health Centre in Clitheroe, Lancashire.

Also in the top five patients’ choice were Egton Surgery in Whitby, North Yorkshire, Batheaston Medical Centre in Bath, Cartmel Surgery in Cumbria, and Caldbeck Surgery in Wigton, Cumbria.

This comes after another Kent GP surgery was heavily criticised by local residents who insist the practice is the 'UK's worst GP surgery'.
