Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins forces contestants to face their fears – and famous faces taking part are no exception.

Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona, who is appearing on the show, was tearful in Sunday's episode as she recalled the abuse she suffered at the hands of an ex.

The mum-of-five, who recently moved from Crowborough, opened up about her relationship with George Key.

The reality star, 40, married former rugby league player George, 39, in 2014 and had a child with him before the pair split 12 months later.

He died of a drug overdose in 2019.

Kerry has claimed her ex used to abuse her and opened up on the events further while talking to Ant Middleton in the opening episode of the gruelling competition, reports The Mirror.

After she was brought into the interrogation room when she failed the CS gas test and aerial walk challenge, the singer spoke emotionally to the group lead.

Ant said: "I can tell you're stuck somewhere. I don't know f***ing where you're stuck, but you're stuck somewhere. Where are you stuck?"

Kerry replied: "My mister died last year of a drug overdose. He was really abusive, and it just took me back to feeling really worthless."

Kerry had to wipe away the tears during her interrogation

After asking what it was that took her back, she explained it was the officers shouting at her and her finishing last.

Ant then told the star it was a form of encouragement on their behalf, to which Kerry acknowledged but confessed the shouting got to her.

The chief instructor then asked whether Kerry's kids saw George abuse her.

"They heard the shouting and saw the black eyes," she tearfully admitted.

"What did you do about that situation," Ant went on to ask.

Kerry told him she eventually left. "I've made so many mistakes and my actions will have consequences on my kids."

The mother-of-five also told them how she has struggled to get over her mum’s suicide attempt and being given drugs at 14 during the candid chat.

Afterwards, while talking to the camera, Kerry said: "When George died, [there was] so many mixed emotions. I was so angry. I was so angry at him.

Ant Middleton questioned Kerry Katona about her past

"How f***ing dare you die? Putting me and the kids through all that s***, and then you just die? The worst conversation I've ever had to have was with my five year old to tell her her daddy had died.

"How do you explain that to a baby? A t*** as he was, you know, he was still a dad. So now I've got to do right by my kids, because they've been through so much already."

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins continues next Sunday at 9pm on Channel 4.
