The August bank holiday is almost upon us, which many will take as their final chance to get away and soak up some sun before autumn returns.

With many travelling to see family, friends, or simply to grab a change of scene, a lot of traffic on Kent's roads can be expected – making having your travel plans sorted and ready before you go all the more important.

So, to help out anyone making a long journey, or just a short drive to the seaside this weekend, we at KentLive have pulled together a little list of all planned roadworks for this bank holiday weekend.

These have been taken from Kent County Council's social media announcements and website, and may not be a conclusive list, as no full list of Kent's ongoing roadworks is published by the council.

We have included all roadworks taking place on and between August 28 and 31, so if you are travelling outside of these dates please make sure you double-check your route.

Full list of roadworks and planned closures in Kent this Bank Holiday

A226 London Road near Knockhall Road, Greenhithe – temporary traffic lights in place until August 28 for Southern Water works.

B2008 Minster Road, Minster-on-Sea – closed on August 28 between houses no. 214-226 for joint bay and road crossing works by UK Power Networks

Bentham Hill, Speldhurst – closed from August 28 for 3 days for OpenReach works.

Bedgebury Road, Goudhurst – closed on August 31 to enable Kent County Council to carry out carriageway patching repairs.

Catts Hill, Stone – entirely closed due to works being carried out by OpenReach until August 29.

Chestfield Road, Chestfield – closed overnight on August 30 for roadworks

Detling – various restrictions in place from August 28-30 for Military Odyssey event at the Kent Event Centre

Durlock Road, Ash – closed from August 30 until September 10 in the vicinity of Ivy Cottage to carry out mains drainage work.

Eastling Road at the junction with Box Lane, Painters Forstal – closed on August 30 for 2 days for Openreach works.

Glassenbury Road, Cranbrook – closed from August 24 until August 31 to allow for South East Water works.

Knockwood Lane, Molash – closed between 8am and 5pm each day for Openreach works.

Langton Green, Upper Nellington – Closed from August 30 until September 3 outside house no. 1 for power works.

Stockland Green Road, Speldhurst – closed from August 28 for 3 days for Openreach works.

Updown Road, Northbourne – closed from August 27 for 21 days to allow for emergency Southern Water works.

Victoria Road, Southborough – closed from August 28 for 3 days for Openreach works.

Victoria Place, Faversham – closed on August 30 for 2 days for OpenReach works
