The Golden Lion pub in Dover ‘closed until further notice’ after customer contracts COVID

A pub in Dover has closed its doors "until further notice" after a customer contracted COVID.

The Golden Lion, situated on Priory Street, has displayed a written notice on one of its windows informing customers of the closure.

The pub is usually open between 10am and 11pm Monday to Fridays, and is open from 12pm to 10.30pm on Sundays.

A picture of the pub shows a notice displayed in the window, which reads: "Due to a customer having COVID the pub will be shut until further notice".

The Golden Lion pub, Dover

The latest figures revealed that COVID cases have actually decreased in Dover in the past week.

A total of 287 new cases were recorded in the week leading up to August 19, that's down from 354 from the week prior.

The current rate of COVID infection in Dover stands at 242.2.
