Kent Police have arrested a man on suspicion of affray in Dartford.

Officers received reports from members of the public that a man was in possession of a hammer and had threatened people in the town on Tuesday night (August 17).

Announcing the arrest on Twitter in the early hours of Wednesday, Kent Police said the weapon had been recovered "and will be booked into property for destruction".

They signed off with the hashtag: "#KeepingDartfordSafe."
