Woman in her 20s ‘bottled in car park during music festival’ at St Clere Estate

A woman in her 20s has been taken to hospital after reportedly being hit with a bottle in Wrotham.

The incident is believed to have taken place at a festival at St Clere Estate in Sevenoaks.

Pictures from the aftermath of the incident show a number of police officers and paramedics in attendance.

A 29-year-old woman from Finsbury in London has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody.

Music festival Matts BBQ is believed to have taken place on the estate yesterday (August 14).

A post on Facebook by St Clere Estate had previously suggested that 7,000 people would show for the festival but there is as yet no official confirmation the incident was linked to the event.

A spokesman said: “Kent Police is investigating a report that a woman was assaulted in a car park off London Road, Wrotham, at around 6pm on Saturday 14 August 2021.

“The victim, a woman in her 20s, is reported to have been hit with a bottle and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

“A 29-year-old woman from woman from the Finsbury Park area of London was also arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody as enquiries continue.
