While thousands have complained of dirty bedrooms, bathrooms and windows, what did the small minority of reviewers love about their experience?
Here's some of the five-star 'excellent' reviews which have been left on Pontins Camber Sands' TripAdvisor page.
'Fantastic value for money'
The most recent review has been left by Andy from Rochester, who said: "My kids absolutely love it at Pontins Camber Sands, and they never want us to go anywhere else for our holidays!
"Pontins Camber Sands is fantastic value for money. Unlike the other holiday parks which have all hiked-up their prices this year, Pontins have kept the cost of their holidays really affordable.
"We stayed in a 6-berth Club apartment for 7 nights in July, and we paid a little over £250 (we booked this holiday in the Pontins January Sale). Amazing value!"
The reviewer highlights the value as the main reason behind his five-star review, however there were also other aspects which stood out.
He continued: "As for the accommodation, you need to be aware that Pontins only offers basic, budget 2-star 'no-frills' apartments, and this is reflected in the price that you pay for your holiday.
"Our apartment was spotlessly clean and had recently been re-painted inside. But again, it was very basic and 'no frills', although it served our needs perfectly well.
"Much of the Pontins site at Camber has been repainted and revamped this year, with new floors fitted inside the Main Building. All of the outside playgrounds dotted around the Pontins site have been refreshed and revamped too, and they're looking really good."
Five stars were awarded for the value, service and location.
Another recent review highlighted the fact that although they arrived to a dirty chalet, the situated was sorted "very quickly".
The reviewer said: "Lovely weekend away (16th-19th July), started off with a dirty chalet but sorted very quickly and cleaned straight away.
"Excellent entertainment as always especially the 80s and jungle jive show where everyone worked so hard! Nice to see familiar blues (Holly, Jack, Rachel, Kim, Hannah, Belle, Kyle and Laura) and meet the new blues (Victoria, Ellie and Georgia) who have settled very well and are absolutely fantastic like the rest of the team!
"All staff worked very hard in all departments, very good weekend."
'Great value, perfect for children, beautiful location'
In a review posted in June this year, Natalie C said she took her daughter to the site and they enjoyed their stay.
She said: "We have stayed here many times. This year I went with just myself and my daughter.
"My daughter has additional needs and all the blue coats were so friendly and supportive, she thoroughly enjoyed her stay.
"Wilbert, who was managing the outdoor facilities, was very understanding and supportive, which really helped to make the holiday a success!
"My daughter had a very minor accident (nothing to do with the site) but never the less first aid came straight away and put her at ease and happy again.
"The entertainment was fun, and it is set in a beautiful place next to fields with lambs, wild rabbits on site, they even have a wild badger that lives on the site too.
"The apartments are set out with spaces outside for the children to play and make friends if they wish to. Only a stones throw from from beautiful sandy beaches. If you're looking for a great value fun, get away with the kids this is the place.
"It's even assessible easily via public transport too."
