Large plumes of smoke and explosions have been seen on the A21 in Lamberhurst.
The road is shut and tweets appear to show an oil tanker on fire being the cause of the incident.
A21 in both directions closed long delays, queueing traffic due to fuel tanker fire from A262 (Forstal Farm Roundabout) to B2169 (Scotney Castle Roundabout).
Congestion to Kippings Cross Roundabout and into Goudhurst, with further delays back towards Filmwell.
The closure has been shortened but remains closed in both directions for a vehicle fire on the southbound carriageway. Due to the nature of the incident the road may be closed for some time.
