Slurry spills all over A20 in Farningham after tanker overturns

A tanker overturned on the A20 sending slurry spilling down the carriageway.

The tractor lost its load at around 2.30pm this afternoon (August 10) as the vehicle was left blocking the carriageway in Farningham.

One eyewitness said the incident left cow muck gushing down the highway.

They said: "A20 coast bound at at Farningham roundabout towards Brands Hatch was closed due to a cow muck spreader fallen off the back of a John Deere and cow muck all over the road."

Police confirmed emergency services were called to the scene.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at around 2.30pm on Tuesday 10 August 2021 after a tractor with a tanker overturned on Dartford Road, Farningham, resulting in damage being caused to roadside furniture and slurry being spilled onto the carriageway.

"Officers are currently assisting Kent Fire and Rescue Service by managing traffic at the scene and arranging for the vehicles to be recovered.

"No injuries have been reported."
