Live M25 Dartford Crossing traffic updates as crash slows queues heading into Kent

There are long delays on both sides of the M25 near the Dartford Crossing.

A two-car crash on the QEII Bridge has caused long delays heading into Kent.

There are also severe delays on the anticlockwise with traffic queuing for 8 miles.

It’s thought the pure volume of traffic is causing the ‘severe delays’ heading from Kent into Essex.

Traffic is building back to J4 at Orpington, with further delays along the A2 around Darenth Interchange.

Heading the other way, one lane closed and queueing traffic due to an accident, two cars involved on M25 QE2 Bridge clockwise from J31.

Congestion is building back to before J30 at the Purfleet A13 interchange.

Earlier this week the crossing was closed when a van caught fire on the crossing.

Drivers faced significant delays, with some motorists furious over the waits.

Those heading from Kent to Essex tonight via the Dartford tunnel will have to allow for extra time. There are currently 8 mile delays on the anti-clockwise carriageway stretching from the crossing back to j4.

Traffic on the A2 is also being affected as a result of the congestion.

  • There are long delays and queueing traffic due to accident, two cars involved on M25 QE2 Bridge clockwise from J31 A1306 to J1A A206 (Dartford).
  • Congestion to almost J29 (Romford / Basildon).
  • In the other direction there are severe delays and queueing traffic for eight miles on M25 anticlockwise at J1A A206 Bob Dunn Way (Dartford Tunnels).
  • Congestion to J4 (Orpington), further delays along the A2 around Darenth Interchange.
  • Travel time is over 60 minutes.
