The latest plans for the second phase of the Folkestone seafront development have been revealed.

Construction is already underway for the first phase of the building, which is situated on the beach.

The second phase lies to the east of the first, and it is set to be built around the homes currently in place on Marine Crescent.

The design of the project, called Plot C1, has taken inspiration from London's Regent's Park Crescent, Lansdown Crescent in Bath and Brighton's Regency Square.

The garden will be situated in the centre of the two buildings, which will be facing each other.

120 new homes are to be build as part of the project, which will also feature facilities such as a gym and children's play area.

There will also be a beach terrace as well as public and private gardens.

Alongside the new homes there will also be 136 cycle spaces installed, with 130 car parking spaces made available.

The latest plans were made available by developer Folkestone Harbour and Seafront Development Company (FHSDC) at an exhibition attended by 176 people held at the Harbour Station.

84 new homes are being built as part of phase one of the plans, which is located on shingle in front of the Leas Lift.

A spokesperson for FHSDC said: "Plot C1 represents the next exciting phase of development on Folkestone Harbour & Seafront.

"It is an opportunity to bring new architecture, homes and commercial spaces to Marine Parade."

The long-term plan for the seafront will line the stretch of the beach all the way to Harbour Arm.

Restaurants, shops and public spaces are all part of the plans amassing over 10,000 sqm of commercial space.

1,000 new homes are also set to be built as part of the project.

The grand plan was granted outline planning consent in 2015 before a number of alterations were made in 2018.

An application for the C1 plot is set to be handed to Folkestone and Hythe District Council this summer.

Previous projects in the area, such as the renovation of the Harbour Arm and Harbour Station, have also been carried out by the Folkestone Harbour and Seafront Company.
