House prices are rapidly rising across the country, and are showing now signs of slowing down.

Since the COVID pandemic hit last year, the property market has seen a whole host of changes.

Despite the economic turmoil caused by the pandemic, buyer demand remains high.

The increased demand caused UK property prices to soar to a record high in March this year.

In Kent, the biggest rise in house prices in the last year has been recorded in Tonbridge and Malling.

The district with the highest average house price recorded in the year building up to May 2021 was Sevenoaks, according to analysis of Land Registry data by national estate agent Keller Williams UK.

Prices rose in the district by by £34,214 in the last year, whereas the average house price in Tonbridge and Malling shot up by £43,614.

House prices have not fallen in any Kent area according to the data, however the lowest increase was recorded in Folkestone and Hythe.

The average house price in the area was £268,865 in the year leading up to May 2021, an increase of £6,863 on the previous year.
