A shocking video has emerged showing a huge brawl at a cricket match in Maidstone.

The initial cause of the brawl was said to be provoked by an argument over a single run.

Several players can be seen lying on the ground injured as the clip cuts to an end.

Spectators were able to eventually intervene and break up the fight as the two sides left each other alone.

The fixture was raising funds for 'Share for Care' and the Heart of Kent Hospice in Aylesford.

Shehzad Akram, who helped with the running of the event, said: "We tried our best for charity and these lunatics just spoiled it.

"At the end of the day, we were having the final match and it was the last couple of overs when some guys came on the pitch and attacked a few of the players."

He added: "I told them then that what they'd done was a disgrace. There should be stiff action against the players involved."
