Drivers have faced long delays at the Blackwall Tunnel today (July 25).
The southbound tunnel on the A102 has been closed all day to facilitate safety repairs while the northbound tunnel has also been affected.
Torrential rail has also led to the tunnel approach being closed in both directions, leading to chaos in the surrounding towns.
Traffic has also been building near the Limehouse Link and Rotherhithe Tunnels, as well as routes through Whitechapel, Mile End and the area around Tower Bridge.

The tunnel is one of the key routes linking London with Kent.
Before the opening of the Dartford Crossing, the Blackwell Tunnel was the most eastern crossing in to the city.
The closure of the tunnel and subsequent delays has led to frustration for motorists.
One person said: "Blackwall tunnel being closed has really messed up my day."
The tunnel is closed southbound between 12.01am on Sunday, July 25 to 5am on Monday, July 26.
To make things worse, heavy rain on Sunday afternoon led to the A102 Blackwall Tunnel Approach being closed in both directions.
