Kent may finally be in for a respite from this week's intense heatwave as the weekend is set for heavy showers and thunderstorms.
In fact, the rain may be so bad that the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Saturday (July 24) and Sunday (July 25), with the latter end of the weekend offering especially heavy downpours.
This may see a return to the cooler temperatures and unsettled weather of early July, as Kent's heatwave has seen temperatures climb into the 30s this week.
Highs of 22C are predicted for the next few days across Kent, with Friday notably cooler if still clear and summery, before a wet weekend wipes away the warmth of mid-July.

Weather charts show an intense band of rain crossing Kent in the afternoon on Saturday (July 24), with 5-10mm of rain per hour falling across Kent.
Met Office Deputy Chief Operational Meteorologist David Oliver said: “This yellow rain warning comes as temperatures are set to dip for many areas over the weekend.
"A spell of rain, heavy in places perhaps with some thunder, moves in from the southwest late on Friday and into Saturday.
“This is followed up by an unsettled weekend for much of England and Wales with showers breaking out widely.
"Some very heavy showers or thunderstorms are on the cards, especially during Sunday.
"However, farther north it is set to stay mainly dry with some fine weather, although it will not be as hot as has been seen recently.”
These wet and unpredictable conditions are expected to continue into next week, with longer spells of rain set to affect many areas.
