Ocado orders cancelled after ‘major incident’ at its Erith warehouse

Online shopping giant Ocado has been forced to cancel orders after a 'major incident at its Erith warehouse.

Over 100 firefighters are at the scene and 250 staff were evacuated after a fire broke out at the Church Manorway warehouse shortly before 12.45pm today.

It is believed the fire started in a second-floor area.

Ocado has now revealed orders have been cancelled and bookings on its website suspended while firefighters tackle the blaze.

A spokesman said: "We're really sorry.

"Due to a major incident at our Erith warehouse some of our orders have been cancelled.

"Please be patient with us while we manage this. If this impacts your order, we will be in touch. Thank you."

London Fire Bridage confirmed no official source has yet been revealed.

Station Commander Steve Vydelingum said: "Firefighters are working hard in hot and arduous conditions inside the warehouse.

"Around 250 staff evacuated before the Brigade arrived. There are no reports of any injuries."
