Earlier this year, it was reported that Tesco planned to rebrand hundreds of it’s Metro stores.
At the time, A Tesco spokesperson told the Mirror: “Over the last few years, we have seen our customers’ shopping habits change and we have taken the decision to re-brand all of our Metro stores to better reflect this.”
Broadstairs isn’t just getting a Tesco rebranding, it’s also getting a relocation.
The new store will be just yards away from the existing Metro store, which is also located on the high street.
Metro stores started appearing on high streets back in the late 1990’s and the one in Broadstairs has been popular with both locals and day trippers for years.
A spokesperson for the supermarket chain said: “We are excited to welcome customers to our new Broadstairs Express store from Friday 23 July.
“The new store is on the same High Street as our Metro store and will offer a great value range of products that our customers know and love.”
The address of the new store is 8-12 High Street, Broadstairs, Kent CT10 1LH.
