If you’re looking for a new dog to love and are happy to adopt a pooch desperate for a ‘furever’ home, we have found some stunning doggies who just want the love, care and attention they so deserve.

If you’ve thought long and hard about welcoming a rescue dog to you home, the Dogs’ Trust as a few simple questions you need to ask yourself first.

Are you ready to give up those Sunday morning lie ins? Prepared to walk in all weathers? For furniture covered in fur and skirting boards chewed? To become chief pooper scooper?

If the answer to all of those is a resounding yes, then the UK’s largest dog welfare charity has a number of beautiful pooches in their Canterbury centre needing to be rehomed.

The Canterbury centre is based in Whitstable so it’s easy to get to wherever you live in Kent.

It’s our absolute pleasure to introduce these beautiful dogs who are ready to become your best friend.

1. AXEL

Axel

This little treasure is Axel, a handsome seven-year-old Shepherd cross. He’s a really bright boy and absolutely loves food, which comes in very useful when he’s being trained.

In fact, he’s currently working on his doggy social skills with a behaviour team so he is looking for a quiet adult only home to continue his training who don’t live more than 45 minutes from the centre as they would like to continue their work when he is finally settled into a new home.

3. ELLA

Ella

Meet Ella the beautiful Staffy Cross. She is 11 years young and still learning.

Ella is a very clever lady; she loves learning new skills and will do tricks for treats. She does like the sound of her own bark and will certainly tell you if she wants food or attention.

She’s a little bit nervous so you’d need lots of patience to look after her but once she relaxes, she absolutely loves a cuddle. In fact, she will paw at you if you stop stroking her before she is ready!

She’s OK to be left for a couple of hours but isn’t really keen on other dogs.

Rocky

Rocky is a beautiful bouncy six-year-old Trailhound who is looking for an active, patient, adult only home that will give him time to settle.

How lush is Nero? He’s loves people so much that he’s finding it hard to settle into the kennels and would love a home where you can be around most of the time.

The lurcher is aged around 5-7 and is a very clever boy. He has lots of basic training under his belt and knows sit, paw, hand target and he is also clicker trained which will help him to learn lots more.

If you adopt him, he wants to be the only pet and needs to live in a household of no more than two people.
