A body has been discovered in Herne Bay this morning (June 25) amid a search for a missing man.

Kent Police attended a location near Canterbury Road at around 5.30am, where the body of a man was discovered.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Although formal identification is yet to take place, the family of a 46-year-old man, named Martin Collins, who was reported missing on Thursday (June 24) have been informed.

On Thursday, police were urgently appealing for information on the whereabouts of Martin.

He was last seen in the Canterbury Road area wearing a black t-shirt and grey fleece jacket.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
