Traffic on the M2 is at a standstill after a serious incident this morning (June 24).
A police helicopter has now been spotted attending the accident which is believed to have happened shortly after 10 am.
An eyewitness at scene has shared photos with KentLive which show the helicopter descending onto the road in front of backed-up cars.
In a statement about the incident, the police said: "Kent Police has been called to the M2 coastbound between junctions 5 and 6 following reports of a collision involving one vehicle.

"One person has reportedly been injured. The air ambulance, along with SECAMB is also in attendance.
"The road is currently closed coastbound."
The disrupted area is between J5 A249 (Sittingbourne / Stockbury Roundabout) and J6 A251 Ashford Road (Faversham).
A driver on the road also noted seeing two fire engines and two police cars go past.
