A person has been injured in a crash on the M2 this morning (June 24).
The accident is believed to have taken place shortly after 10am near Sittingbourne between junctions 5 and 6.
A police helicopter has been spotted landing at the scene and has since taken off.
In a statement, the police said "Kent Police has been called to the M2 coastbound between junctions 5 and 6 following reports of a collision involving one vehicle.

"One person has reportedly been injured. The air ambulance, along with SECAMB is also in attendance.
"The road is currently closed coastbound."
An eyewitness at scene has shared photos with KentLive which show the helicopter descending onto the road in front of backed-up cars.
The congested area is between J5 A249 (Sittingbourne / Stockbury Roundabout) and J6 A251 Ashford Road (Faversham).
