All Kent areas ranked from most to least number of Delta variant cases

All areas of Kent have now recorded cases of the Delta variant, according to the latest Government figures.

Public Health England has begun releasing data on the number of cases confirmed in each local authority of the variant first identified in India, known as the Delta variant.

The figures mean that it is possible to track how the coronavirus variant is spreading throughout Kent, and where it is most prevalent.

The most recent data was released on June 18 and covers the period of time up to June 16 – in that time, 787 cases of the Delta variant were recorded in Kent.

The Delta variant is most prevalent in Medway, where 175 cases have been recorded.

Canterbury, which has seen its overall infection rate fall, follows behind with 155.

Folkestone and Hythe and Thanet have recorded the lowest number of Delta variant cases, with just 17.
