Temperatures are set to climb even higher on Monday (June 14) as the heatwave shows no sign of letting up.

The BBC is forecasting highs of 30C for some of us in Kent – warmer than it will be in Ibiza, Spain.

Areas inland and away from the coast will see the highest temperatures as we set a new ‘hottest day of the year’.

The blistering temperatures are set to stick around until the middle of the week when thunderstorms will clear the air.

The BBC forecast for Maidstone

Looking ahead, rhe BBC is forecasting highs of 29C for Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells, with temperatures peaking between 2pm and 3pm.

On the coast it will be considerably cooler with temperatures struggling to climb much above 24C.

In Thanet temperatures are set to rise to 24C in the middle of the day and will stay that way until the early evening.

We could be in for some warm evenings too, with forecasters suggesting that temperatures will remain in the mid teens overnight.
