With summer well and truly upon us, football fans are looking forward to watching the European Championships while catching some rays.

They're due to kick off tonight (June 11) with England's first game on Sunday.

Many people are trying to make the most of the improved weather, with BBQs and big-screen events planned to coincide with the Euros.

And the good news is that, for now, it looks like the weather gods are smiling down on Kent.

The main forecasters are all predicting a weekend of warm and bright conditions.

Temperatures look set to ramp up for Sunday afternoon in particular – just when England are due to play their first game of the Euros again Croatia.

It means that any of those people hosting BBQs, enjoying the big screens or looking to celebrate or commiserate in any form afterwards can do so beneath glorious sunshine.

In parts of Kent, it could be a slightly cloudier start to the weekend.

The BBC is predicting some cloud and temperatures of around 19C in places like Folkestone.

But they are still due to shoot into 20Cs on Sunday and stay there for the next four days.

In our county town of Maidstone the whole weekend looks set fair for clear skies and sunshine.

On Monday the area could be hit with scorching 27C heat according to the BBC.

The outlook says: "High pressure will continue to bring dry, warm and settled conditions for the start of next week.

"Sunday will be warm and sunny with just the odd patch of cloud around.

"Monday will be another largely dry and warm day with plenty of sunshine.

"Tuesday looks to be mostly sunny again, but there may be a few showers at times."

Meanwhile THE Met Office is predicting a bit of cloud for our county town of Maidstone for Saturday, but clear skies and scorching 24C temperatures on Sunday.

It's also predicting temperatures to stay in the 20Cs until Thursday, when they are forecast to drop down to the teens again.

Its outlook says: "Another sunny and very warm, perhaps hot day Sunday.

"Similar on Monday.

"Perhaps a little fresher on Tuesday, but still widely very warm with plenty of sunshine."
