Air ambulance called to Broadstairs after incident

An air ambulance was called to Broadstairs in response to an emergency call from a private address.

Residents captured footage and images of the aircraft at around 9.30pm yesterday (June 9),

It was spotted flying low over St Peters, passing over the Broadway and Birchington just before sunset.

It then landed on the green open space in Westover Gardens.

South East Coast Ambulance Service were unable to comment on the nature of the incident due to patient privacy.

Several residents on Facebook expressed their concern over the ambulance being called out.

One, named Jess, said: "Never a good sign, I hope whatever happened isn't too bad – thought it was landing on my roof."

Another resident, Lucy, expressed frustration over members of the public heading to the scene to attempt to work out what was going on:

The helicopter was seen taking off just after sunset, at around 10pm.

"I can't believe how many people were driving and walking down to have a look… Sickos."

The air ambulance left the green a short while later, taking off into the night sky at around 10pm.

The helicopter landed on the green of Westover Gardens, and was seen flying low over Broadstairs. at around 9:30pm
