Girl hit by car in Ashford and taken to hospital

Police are appealing for witnesses after a child was hit by a car in Ashford.

The incident happened on Friday (May 28) at the junction with Somerset Road.

Kent Police were called to the scene at 5.45pm after a report of "a collision between a pedestrian and a car in North Street."

South East Coast Ambulance Service were also in attendance.

The girl was taken to a local hospital and was later discharged.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and spoke to officers who were in North Road.

Kent Police are now urging any witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman for the force said: "Officers are urging anyone who saw the incident, or who may have any dashcam or CCTV footage, to call Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 28-1127."
