A person has been rushed to a London hospital with life threatening injuries following a crash in Ashford.

Two vehicles collided in Kimberley Way in the early hours of this morning (June 5).

Kent Police was called at 1.10am and one person was taken to a London hospital with life threatening injuries.

The force said that officers remain at the scene and the road remains closed to allow investigators to carry out enquiries.

The road, which connects to the Ashford Outlet is closed in both directions.

Drivers using the A2042 Romney Road, B2229 Norman Road and Malcolm Sargent Road are all affected.

Traffic is said to be coping well although motorists between Hamstreet and Ashford are stuck in queues.

Kent Police said it is due to issue a full appeal relating to the incident later today.
