Person suffers burns in Tunbridge Wells van fire

One person has suffered burns following a van fire in Tunbridge Wells this afternoon (May 29).

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a van alight in Grosvenor Road shortly before 1pm.

Plumes of smoke were seen across the town as flames ravaged the van.

Two fire engines attended and crews successfully extinguished the flames using hose reel jets.

Kent Police also attended the scene and the road was closed as crews worked to tackle the blaze.

One person sustained slight burns to their hands.

The cause is believed to be accidental.
