Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after crash in Tunbridge Wells

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to a London hospital after a serious crash in Tunbridge Wells this afternoon (May 29).

A van and a lorry were involved in a smash shortly after noon in Church Road in the town centre.

Kent Police were called to the scene at 12.25pm and an air ambulance flew the rider to hospital.

The A264 Church Road in Tunbridge Wells still remains closed in both directions with traffic queuing.

The central road runs through the town and is less than 500 metres from Tunbridge Wells railway station.

Numerous emergency service vehicles responded to the crash at the time, including police, paramedics and firefighters.
