A heavy police presence is preparing as an anti-immigration protest assembles in Dover.
Protestors began assembling at 1pm at the town’s train stations, where police vans and cars are waiting.
Currently, officers wearing riot gear are outnumbering the protestors despite the start time having passed.
One eyewitness estimates there are about 20 protestors gathered nearby at Union Street, some carrying St George flags.
In response to the planned event, there are at least four police vans stationed around town alongside a number of other police vehicles.
The march was adevrtised i advance by a group calling itself the Pembrokeshire Patriots.
It’s name stems from the use of a Welsh barracks – similar to Folkestone’s Napier Barracks – to house people caught crossing the Channel.
The group refuses to be labelled as far right.
More information as we get it.
