Drivers in Kent are being asked to avoid the M20 after a lorry fire.

The motorway is closed in both directions as a result of the fire, leading to huge tailbacks and significant delays.

Highways England say that traffic is queuing back for more than two miles and that journeys are delayed by more than 20 minutes.

The M20 is closed at Ashford, in both directions between junctions eight and nine.
