Barely any Kent neighbourhoods are recording more than two new coronavirus cases according to the latest data for the seven days to May 11.

As restrictions continue to ease today (May 17), COVID has been almost wiped out in most parts of the county, with the government's interactive map reflecting the numbers of new cases recorded in a one week period.

It's a positive sign as indoor household mixing returns for groups of six or two households, the ban on non-essential international travel is lifted, and hospitality venues can open indoor seating areas again.

Despite this, 18 neighbourhoods are still recording three or more coronavirus cases in the space of seven days.

The darker the colour on the interactive map, the higher the infection rate and the lighter the colour, the lower the infection rate is in that area.

Neighbourhoods which are white have recorded fewer than three cases in the space of one week, with the exact number not given to protect the identities of those who have tested positive.

Most areas in Kent are now in this group, but there are some which are showing up on the map with the number of new COVID cases still being recorded as they are higher than two.
