You can now take a look inside the stunning Henry VIII castle that really is fit for a King here in Kent – and even maybe own it.

Chilham Castle near Chartham and Canterbury, Kent is a Grade II listed property, it dates back to 709AD, and once housed the infamous King Henry VIII.

The magnificent castle with its 300-acres of land, is currently being sold by Knight Frank for a shocking £15m, but it's worth every penny with its "architecturally outstanding" image.

The former fortress was previously used by Wihtred King of Kent, as well as Saint Louis King of France and King Edward I, before it fell to King Henry VIII, reports the Daily Star.

The mansion was restored with guidance from English Heritage and interior designer Christopher Gibbs.

When you walk into the castle, you’re greeted by a luxurious lobby and stunning entrance hall with tall plasterwork ceilings and large fireplaces.

The property boasts 16 bedrooms, some of which with four-poster beds, dressing rooms and ensuites, as well as 11 reception rooms, which makes the house "perfect for large scale entertaining".

Guests also have the option of mingling on the beautiful terraced lawns outside – taking in the stunning scenery or partaking in activities like horse-riding or fishing.

As well as this, there are also two tennis courts and a grand swimming pool.

Will Matthews, Partner, Knight Frank Farms & Estates, said: "Chilham Castle is one of the best houses to have come to the market for decades, and undoubtedly one of the best houses I've seen in my time.

"The Jacobean property offers the unique opportunity to acquire a piece of English history, and despite its impressive historical credentials, the property recently underwent a full restoration and is in remarkable condition."
