Armed police descended on a property in Thanet after concerns a weapon may have been present.

Pictures from Cliftonville showed multiple police officers carrying firearms and in heavy protection.

Police cars were also spotted on the scene after being called to a disturbance in Cliff Terrace in Margate yesterday (April 15).

Kent Police confirmed a man had been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

A full statement from the Police confirmed that officers armed officers attended the scene.

A spokesman said: “Kent Police was called to a report of a disturbance in Cliff Terrace, Cliftonville.

Officers attended, including armed officers due to concerns a weapon may have been present, and a man was taken into custody in connection with the incident.
