Kent Police is investigating following reports an 8-year-old boy was stabbed in Dover.
The incident happened in the Beaufoy Road area on Monday (April 5), and it is reported the boy was assaulted by a group of young people.
Eyewitness reports suggest the boy was stabbed, but this was not confirmed by police. He suffered a hand injury, but an ambulance was not required to treat him.
Police cars remained in the area for several hours while carrying out enquiries.
In an appeal for information, a spokesman for Kent Police said: "Kent Police is making enquiries into a report a boy was assaulted by a group of young people while playing in the Beaufoy Road area of Dover during the day on Monday, April 5.
"The boy sustained a hand injury, which did not require the ambulance service to attend.
"Anyone with information regarding the incident should call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/55921/21."
