It may be tucked away in the heart of the North Downs – but it's a village that boasts quite the clientele.

Set in the picturesque Maidstone countryside, Lenham might be your typical English village on the face of it.

But one of its inhabitants is anything but ordinary.

For many years now, it's been where former model, actress and radio DJ Kelly Brook has settled.

It's just 20 miles from her place of birth and where she went to school in Rochester.

The market village is on the southern edge of the North Downs. It is so tranquil you wouldn't quite believe it's only nine miles east from the town of Maidstone.

Lenham is a picturesque village with everything you could need for day-to-day living. A tree-lined market square framed by charming historic buildings forms the heart of the thriving community and provides a choice of shops, pubs and restaurants.

The village is the perfect place to make the most of the great outdoors, lying at the crossroads of peaceful footpaths which include the North Downs Way and the Stour Valley Walk.

This walking route allows you to follow the river from its source at Lenham to its estuary at Pegwell Bay.

The walk passes through some of Kent’s finest landscapes, most important nature sites, and historic unspoiled villages.

Lenham itself dates all the way back to 1088, when the village was an important crossroad settlement.

With a population of 3,370, Lenham’s village square is a beautiful site, with two pubs, a few restaurants and a lovely tea room.

Lenham is incredibly well-connected for travelling and commuting further afield. The village has retained its railway station, with regular direct trains to London Victoria and Ashford International, while the nearby A20 provides quick links to the M20 in both directions.
Parents will appreciate that Lenham Primary School and The Lenham School for secondary pupils are both located within the village, meaning that education for children of all ages is available within walking distance.

Meanwhile Lenham Community Centre is the village's hub for a range of clubs and activities, and there's plenty to do with a busy calendar of community events to enjoy.

And set within 500 acres of beautiful parkland, 900-year-old Leeds Castle is just five miles away. Dubbed the loveliest castle in the world, there's so much to do here to make this a favourite family day out.

Kelly would be the first to tell you all this, herself a frequent face at the popular castle.

Beautiful farmhouse

The property was purchased for a whopping £1 million

The DJ has been living in the lovely village of Lenham for over a decade now.

The 39-year-old has been renovating the £1million 15th century farmhouse, which has sprawling gardens set on an apple farm, and a private pool.

Naming her refurbished home her “labour of love”, ITV’s This Morning viewers had the luck of taking a peek at Kelly’s immaculate garden, in the Kent countryside, on the show in 2019.

Kelly lives in the incredible home with boyfriend Jeremy Parisi, and is grows her own vegetables on her land, as well as a variety of flowers and trees.

The Grade II listed home however was found to have some unexpected residents.

A rare species of bats were found nesting there, which had put the makeover of the 600-year-old home on hold.

Her £1million Tudor farmhouse was originally supposed to be the backdrop for her planned 2007 wedding to Billy Zane

Incredibly, the farmhouse is one of more than 100 grade listed buildings in Lenham, according to the British Listed Buildings website.

We can see why this quaint village would be attractive to the rich and famous.

If only we could afford to reside in such a beautiful corner of the county…
